International Batik Workshop

  

Fiber Artist Lynda Brothers will be teaching a workshop for beginners to intermediate silk painters, batik artists, quilters who want to create their own fabrics, and wearable artists designing fashion fabric.

This two day workshop will involve waxing and dying techniques, different dyes and fabrics used, steaming and setting of dyes on fabrics, vat dyeing, Indonesian cultural techniques as well as contemporary  artistic  techniques.

This is a great opportunity to learn new and traditional techniques for surface design of many different media in a relaxed and fun environment. Maximum 6 students.  Classes will be offered in the future for more advanced work.

Cost: $250 for the two day workshop plus $35 material fee to include fabrics and dyes and equipment and steaming. Lunch included though any pot luck is also appreciated. Limited to 6 people.
